Xiaomi Mi Band 2 launch delayed by one month due to production problems

Xiaomi recently announced the launch of Xiaomi Mi Max phablet and the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 wearable including the launch of MIUI 8. However, the launch of Mi Band 2 has been delayed due to possible production problems.

Even if Xiaomi introduces Mi Band 2, it will take few days for the new device to become available on the market. According to unconfirmed sources, production issues have halted the smooth manufacturing of the Band and hence it will cause delay in the introduction of the Mi Band 2.

While confirming the delay, CEO of Huami, Xiaomi’s manufacturing partner for the Mi Band revealed on Weibo that
manufacturing problems are preventing the company from building adequate number of devices to meet the expected demand for the device.

If you are unaware, Xiaomi devices are of high demand in Asian countries and the company is finding it hard to manufacture the units to meet the demand. However, the supply is limited. Since the previously released Mi Band was a huge success, the company expects huge demand for the Band 2.

According to industry analysts, the main reason for the huge demand is the price factor. For less than Rs. 1000, customers will be able to buy a Band, which they can make use of for daily requirements.

On the specifications front, the Mi Band 2 features a removable OLED display and a special app which enables you to view a detailed analysis of your health and exercise results. Meanwhile, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun disclosed that there will be a one month delay in the official availability of the device.
